Share the Citizens’ Track…
On Tuesday we launched our White Paper, a Citizens’ Track on AI: Alignment, Agency and Accountability.
We need your help to share the message that participatory practice can address the current democratic deficits in AI governance.

Join us via Zoom on Thursday 30th July (3- 4pm Geneva; 2 - 3pm London; 9 - 10am Washington; 6.30 - 7.30pm Delhi) to hear reflections on the UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance, to share your reflections, and learn about the draft workplan for the Citizens’ Track in the months ahead.
We’ll be sharing updates on the PAVE Case Book, updates for partners, and information about how we’re taking forward guidance from this week’s discussions on partnerships and governance of the initiative.

Case Book reflections from Geneva
All week we’ve been talking to people at the PAVE: Towards a Citizens’ Track booth at AI for Good about examples of participatory AI governance from across the globe.
If you’ve not yet taken a look at the case book, you can find it here. And now it is tried-and-tested, we’re committed to taking it forward.
Are we missing an example of a project that has sought citizen voice in shaping AI? Nominate it for future inclusion and over the coming weeks we’ll continue to add examples to the map.
Save the date: PAIRS 2027
The 3rd Edition of the Participatory AI Research and Practice Symposium will take place in Geneva on Saturday 19th June 2027, just ahead of the Geneva AI Summit.

PAIRS provides the theory-and-practice underpinnings of the citizens’ track: as well as creating a wider space for researchers and practitioners working on participatory AI development, governance and resistance to present and discuss work.

Partnership Hub for Participatory AI Governance
We’re delighted to be a founding member of the Partnership Hub for Participatory AI Governance, launched within the framework of the UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance.
On Tuesday we held a first informal meeting with representatives from Missions Publiques, Iswe Foundation, MetaGov, i4Policy and Socratus (participatory practitioners rooted across five continents) at the PAVE Expo Booth to explore how our different initiatives can collaborate.
We identified a key opportunity in coordination around activities for the 2027 Geneva AI Summit, bringing greater coherence to advocacy and messaging about the importance of public participation in AI governance.
As the Partnership Hub becomes established, we’ll share more details of how you can get involved through this newsletter.
Support the citizens’ track
The citizens’ track is a partnership initiative, with many partners contributing in-kind time and support.
Building on the response to our work in Geneva last week, we are working on plans to make sure we can take forward an ambitious agenda for public voice: both to resource the ‘institutional’ layer of the citizens’ track, and to support distributed community assemblies with different communities and in different parts of the world.
We welcome any signposting to potential support, and outreach about individual donations.
